The Blessing Of Contentment

Hi Family! So glad to be back this week delivering a bit of motivation and inspiration to you all. I will actually be a recipient of the message this time around. Up this week, is none other than T-H-E Hope Harmon. I am so excited about this week’s contribution. It is a good one. One that I know is going to hit home for some of you. I don’t want to waste more time with my ramblings…. let’s get to it! (- T King)

I used to think contentment was a bad thing. I always equated contentment to being stagnant. What I mean by stagnant is to not progress or regress- just be still. Tonight, I was sitting in my quiet time, God led me to Philippians 4:11-14: I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I find myself. I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well-fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me. Still, you did well by partnering with me in my hardship. I really like reading different versions of scripture to get a better, deeper understanding. As I read the scripture the word content kept on coming up. God led me actually to look up the word “content”. According to my quick google search, the word content means, “The state of peaceful happiness, satisfaction.”

As I began to read Philippians again, I started replacing the word content with peaceful happiness and the passage took on a whole new meaning for me, I had a better outlook.

Peaceful happiness is a place we should always strive to be, no matter what season of life we are in, especially knowing the God we serve. I am committing to finding peaceful happiness in whatever circumstance I find myself in. I am confident I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.

Let’s have a discussion in the comments below!
