”“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”“
Matthew 7:24-27 NIV
During my prayer time yesterday, God laid this statement on my heart: “All is well, It will be well!” My heart posture for 2024 will be “ All is well, IT WILL BE WELL!”
Going into 2024, we create vision boards and we speak declarations over the things we are expecting God to make happen in the new year. But not even a full month in some have given up on their declarations and their attitude has changed to it’s going to be what it’s going to be in 2024.
Things have happened we didn’t plan. Maybe finances aren’t what we thought they would be, that promotion didn’t happen in our time, that relationship that we declared would be marriage this year is already over BUT All is well it will be well!
Yesterday, I was praying for a family that is really dear to my heart. God has really taken them through some things already this year that would test anyone’s faith. At the end of our visit, all I felt in my spirit was “All is well, It will be well.”
In the scripture above Jesus is teaching. One thing I liked the most about Jesus is he took time to teach the people not just preach to them. He wanted them to truly understand the word.
In this scripture, we find that Jesus is saying whoever puts his word into practice is like a wise man who built his house on a rock. I don’t know how many have seen houses build from the ground up but I have many times. The first step is leveling the ground and then here comes the foundation. The foundation is a solid slab of concrete here in South Georgia. As I was looking up the process of foundation of houses, I kept noticing the word cure. It can take over 48 days for a foundation to cure. The importance of allowing the foundation to cure is so it doesn’t shrink, so the foundation doesn’t crack, I also learned if you build a house on a foundation that’s not cured it can cause the walls in your house to crack.
It takes at least 48 days to curse and here we are giving up on God in 22 days!
Imagine living in a house or apartment that doesn’t have a solid foundation. Imagine all the issues you would have just because the builder didn’t want to wait out the process to do it right.
I just want to encourage you this morning to make sure you are building your faith on a solid foundation. Faith takes time, God takes time. Yes of course God could have done everything you wanted done in these first 22 days of the year but you need the strong foundation of Christ Jesus! Count it ALL JOY!
Finances aren’t what you thought they would be? …All is well it will be well…
Job promotion hasn’t come like you thought it would? ….. All is well it will be well
Children giving you trouble? All is well it will be well
Remember in all things Christ is helping us to build a solid foundation. There are some things we are going to have to go through, so we will know IT WAS NOBODY BUT GOD!
September 2019, started one of the hardest years of my life that lasted through August of 2022….I lost my sister & niece to murder, my grandparents died within a month of each other, and my biological father I were just building a solid relationship passed of stage 4 cancer.
When people asked me how I didn’t lose my mind, it was that solid foundation!
When people ask me how in the world I smile when they would be in tears, it’s the solid foundation!
When they ask me how I keep my faith, it’s the solid foundation!
Put God’s word into practice! The hymn writer said, “ON Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”
Christ is our solid foundation! When we don’t have him we will crack at every little thing that happens, when we don’t have a solid foundation we lose our faith, and when we don’t have a solid foundation we shrink ourselves to fit the world’s view of us, instead of Christ’s view of us!
It is important that we stand on HIM!!! Stand on our solid foundation!
ALL IS WELL, ALL WILL BE WELL!
AMEN!
