The Problem of Matching Energies
Happy Monday, family! I am happy that I have like-minded folk in my circle who have the ability and willingness to spread motivation and inspiration whenever needed. It does not have to always come from me. Up this week, one of TJ&M’s own regular contributors, Hope S. Harmon! She is ALWAYS here for the motivational smoke and this time is no different.
Good Morning. Last night as I was preparing for bed, something hit me. I have been matching energies with people and situations. I can admit it and I can also admit I was WRONG!
God took me to Mathew 5:38-48. Please read it in its entirety when you have a chance. The part of the passage I want to focus on is Matthew 5:48 (MSG), “In a word, what I’m saying is, GROW UP. You are kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.”
In the society we live in today, we sometimes base how we treat others on how they treat us. We will base our reaction on their actions or at least attempt to use them against us as an excuse. God doesn’t accept that! It’s time that we GROW UP in Christ.
We can no longer allow the enemy to bring out the worst in us, we have to pray to God for our best. Many times if a person doesn’t like us, we go into conversations or situations with preconceived ideas, and we are ready to be defensive. God says it’s easy to treat people well when everything is going our way but what about when it’s not? It’s easy to be nice to people when they are nice to us but what about when they are rude? The word says, “If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? ANYBODY CAN DO THAT!”
I guess what I’m getting at this morning is God has called us higher! We have to ALWAYS give our best regardless of what others do. People are going to be good, bad, nice, and nasty but that shouldn’t change who YOU ARE!
We have been called as kingdom subjects, to live a life toward others, the way God lives toward us. What does that mean? It means we all have bad days! We aren’t perfect by a long shot. What if God said my blessings are tied up in your energy today? That means when we are having a bad day, God would match that energy. Wake up with a little attitude? oh God would definitely be on ready to give us one right back BUT I’m thankful we don’t serve a God like that. We serve a God that loves us beyond our faults.
Pray for people! Pray that God gives you the heart to not change your heart no matter how others treat you. We DONT MATCH ENERGIES! We live a life to please Christ. We pray for those that are giving us a difficult time but we never change our God standard for the world!
I pray for you on today that God will continue to help us all grow in grace. That He helps us to remain true to His word! That we will be able to show people the true love of Christ in the way we walk, talk, and live!
